So yesterday I won the Team Beachbody daily sweepstakes

I couldn’t believe it!  I checked my e-mail at 6am and saw a “Congratulations” from Team Beachbody.  WHAT?  So I opened the e-mail and it said that I was yesterday’s winner!  I won $300 bucks.  How cool is that?!  I got paid to workout.  Nice.  It does pay to workout…  ha ha.  Ok cheesy joke.  =)

A new adventure for 2010

I actually like working out.  Call me crazy… but I do.  I also like to eat, which is why if I don’t workout, well, I’d be a very large girl, in such a short frame.  And I can’t have that.   Other than the obvious reasons for not wanting to be out of shape, I love to travel.  When I travel, I like to explore and that could mean walking ALL DAY LONG or climbing 400 steps up a slender stairwell just to get to the top and check out a view not to be missed.  I don’t want to be that person left behind, sitting on a bench because I’m too winded to do anything else.  I don’t want to miss out!

Because of my interest in fitness, I’ve decided to become a fitness coach/consultant for Beachbody.  Why?  I love Beachbody products, and what a better way to keep me accountable!  Being a fitness coach gives me the tools to help myself, as well as others with their weight loss/fitness and nutrition.

So if you, or anyone you know, needs some direction on weight loss or nutrition, please check out my new websites for more information.

Mixing it up with ChaLEAN Extreme and Turbo Kick

I have to say that I really love Turbo Kick. This is the first cardio workout where I don’t look at the clock and wonder if I’m almost done. Thank you Chalene for making working out fun again!!!! I actually have some of the songs she uses in TK running through my head during the day! I especially like the song she uses during Recovery in TK Round 32. That’s got a cool groove. (I wish she sold the cds for that! I could put it on my iPod and use it as my walking soundtrack– so Chalene, if you’re reading this, hint hint!)

Today I was on the website and was checking out the turbo wear – if I had the cash, I’d be buying new workout clothes left and right! Love some of the designs!!! (Just a lil’ obsessed!!)

Speaking of obsessed… I bought a new pair of workout shoes– yep, had to get some Nike shox, just to see what all the hubbub was about. (Had to get new shoes anyway, my shoes I have now were making my toes go numb during TK!  And they’re not tight at all!) What’s your fave x-training shoe?

Anyway, I decided that if I really wanted to get my ass in gear, I would need to mix the ChaLEAN Extreme routine and Turbo Kick together.

My schedule is going to be:
Sunday: Turbo Kick
Monday: CLX
Tuesday: OFF (gotta watch Biggest Loser)
Wednesday: CLX
Thursday: Turbo Kick
Friday: CLX
Saturday: Turbo Kick

I think that’s a good schedule and I believe I can stick to it.

All my workouts will be at night – which is easier for me, schedule-wise. I’ve tried getting up early, but that just hasn’t worked very well. It would be nice if I didn’t have to be at work until 10am, but alas no. I’m a corporate chick, so I have to be at my desk by 9am.

Well — it’s time for the Monday night workout!

a little obsessed with Turbo Kick – Round 32 & Turbo Sport

I’m a fan of trainer Chalene Johnson. She created Turbo Jam for Beachbody and Turbo Kick (at 24Hour Fitness). A couple of weeks ago I decided to try the dvd Turbo Kick round 32. I love, love, love this workout!!! Trying to keep up with this workout is tough. I get most of the moves, I’m just not as graceful as the TK folks.  But who cares?!  I’m doing the workout at home, so the only person who can laugh at me is my hubby, and well, maybe my dog.

Is it bad that I think about this workout while I’m at work?  I tend to get a little obsessed with new things.   (After I got a crackberry, I couldn’t put the thing down.  It was at my side every waking moment.  If I accidentally left the phone at home — HOLD UP! Everything has to stop until I get the phone!!!  It’s been over a year now, and I’m slowly trying to ween myself off of having the crackberry 24/7.  It’s not working.)   Anyways, back to Turbo Kick.   I figure once I get really comfortable with the workout, I can eventually check out the live versions at 24 Hour Fitness.  Maybe.  I kind of like the idea of working out at home and not having to clean up at the gym, get on a train and commute home.  Now, I’m not saying that the gym by my work is nasty.  It’s not.  It’s just crowded!!  With my luck, I take a live Turbo Kick class and accidentally get kicked by another participant because the class is packed.

Bad start…

So much for trying to be healthy today.  I broke all the rules. For breakfast I had a venti skinny vanilla latte – that’s it.  I got so busy at work that I forgot to eat breakfast.

By the time lunch came around, I was starving! What did I get?  I hit a french bistro and ordered a croque monsier and french onion soup!  To top it off, there was cake at work, so I had a slice!!  I’m sure I hit the equivalent of 3 days worth of calories in one sitting.

As of now, I feel like a bloated beached whale.  I totally regret eating all that food, but I can’t change the past.  I know that tonight I will have to seriously workout to burn some calories. Wish I could my elliptical machine in front of my TV, then I could workout while watching TV.   But really, I just need to focus and get my lazy ass on to the elliptical machine.  Or do one of the many workout DVDs I have.  It’s gonna be a late night…

The first 15 pounds

I have heard that some people have found it hard to lose the last 15 pounds.  Well in my case, it’s the first 15.  For years, I have tried to lose the first 15 pounds.  I haven’t been successful.  Why?  Hell, I love to eat and I can get lazy when it comes to watching what I eat and working out consistently.

So I decided to start a blog that chronicled my weight loss.  I’m sure this blog will drown in the sea of millions of other weight loss blogs out there.  This blog may not be as funny as some or even that exciting.  I don’t have that much to lose really.  Just 15 pounds at the most.

That may not sound like much, but I’m only 4’11” and I fluctuate from 128-130.  According to the AMA, for my height, I should be in the range of 101-123.   101???!!!!  Are you freaking kidding me?  I’d look emaciated.  I think 115 would be better.

So here I am.  Let my blogging life begin!   (Now if only I could attach a laptop to a treadmill, I’d be good to go!!!!)
